Time to change the bookmarks!Posted on January 16th, 2009 @ 8:18 pm
We are moving! Due to the issues I have had with the tool used to create this blog, I have decided to move us to a new location. Please visit www.bowerland.com.blogspot.com
I should have a post there soon.

One of my favorite holiday activities – decorating :-)Posted on December 27th, 2008 @ 7:59 pm
One of the things I look forward to most during the holidays is putting up all of the decor.
Now, unfortunately, this is what Rick hates most. When I ask him to bring out the boxes, you would have thought I would have asked him to have a tooth pulled. But after all the years, I think he is starting to get how much I love it.
Here is a glimpse of some of the stuff I put up this year:
The mantle (new and improved garland this year)

My JOY letters which I made myself:

The snowflakes I hung from the dining room chandelier:

The formal living room tree:

Coming to a mailbox near youPosted on December 21st, 2008 @ 7:07 pm
Okay, so it has been a month since I posted. I am officially a bad “blogger”. I guess I have another New Year’s Resolution now – to be the best blogger I can be.
Anyway, we are pretty busy getting ready for the holidays. Lauren and Addison had their last day of school last week before the Christmas break. Rick and I finished up Christmas shopping for them over the weekend. I wanted to share our Christmas pictures that we had done in the studio this year. Enjoy.

Pics from Addy’s First day and morePosted on September 18th, 2008 @ 7:10 pm
We have had a busy week and a half. We got Addison started at Preschool. She goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 2 pm. She has been a piece of cake so far – as we find is the case with Addison in most cases compared to her sister. She loves to play and even sleeps on her nap mat during naptime. Here some pictures of her first and second days at school.
Getting ready to leave grandma’s house on the big day:

Tuckered out after her first day:

We have a busy weekend planned with some football games, a Rangers basepall game and the normal home maintenance/improvement activities – so I am sure that will generate some more pictures to share. One more cute one to share before I log off for the evening.

Our little cheerleaderPosted on September 7th, 2008 @ 2:50 pm
Over the summer, Lauren voiced her desire to be a cheerleader for a Pee-Wee football team in the fall. This being Texas and football being SOO BIG here – they have such a thing. We signed her up to be a cheerleader for the Dragon Youth Cheerleading Association.
Her first football game was on Saturday. She did great, although it was a challenge being out there in the heat of the day. Enjoy the pictures below. I aplologize for them being linked again. We are trying to figure out our new camera. Our old camera ended up being used as a coffee stirrer a few weeks ago.
Lauren’s Cheer Bucket (this is used to hold her pom poms and water and for resting)- We made it together at a bucket decorating party with other girls from the squad.

First Week of SchoolPosted on August 29th, 2008 @ 2:10 pm
Lauren started her first week of kindergarten this week. She did great and already has some friends that she look forwards to seeing everyday. She is attending Rockenbaugh Elementary (http://www.southlakecarroll.edu/ROCK/RES/Index.htm). It seems to be a great school.
This first week of school has been a bit of an adjustment for all of us. We all are getting up earlier in the morning. Instead of letting Lauren and Addison eat breakfast at Grandma’s house in the morning, we have to make sure Lauren eats before heading out. Plus, we are on a strict time schedule. i have to make sure to leave in time to allow for dropping Addison off at Grandma’s house and getting over to the school. This week I have parked and walked Lauren inside to make sure she knows her way around.
I will be posting pictures of the first day tonight.
We hope everyone has a great long weekend!!!

Addison’s Second BirthdayPosted on August 19th, 2008 @ 2:29 pm
Our little angel turned 2 on August 14. We celebreated her birthday this past weekend. On Sunday, we had a little party for her at our house. We invited Meemaw, Bampa, Aunt Kristin and our next door neighbors. Our next door neighbors have a son, Jonathan, who is five years old and their daughter, Esther is going to be two in a couple of weeks. We had a great time and Addison enjoyed herself. Enjoy the pictures below.

WelcomePosted on August 14th, 2008 @ 7:21 pm
Welcome to the Bowerland.com New Blog. Recently, while doing some research online, I came to the realization that the world has gone blog crazy. After some thought, I decided that this would be a much better forum to keep everyone up to date on what is happening in our world here in Texas, especially since I have done such a poor job of keeping up Bowerland.com for quite some time. A blog would not require me to build a separate web page anytime I have a new set of pictures to share.
For those not familiar with a blog, a blog is an online journal of sorts that is typically maintained by one individual. For the Bowerland.com blog, Allison will continue to administer. So, all blog entries will be written from my point of view.
Let’s get the party started!
